Members Present: Rose Jergens, Victor Schmidt, Deane Dietel,
Mark Schnobrich
The board discussed the winter / fall brochure and they made the following suggestions.
1.) change `killers of trees" section to not include flowers under trees quote and
to add more on weed eaters and bark damage on trunks
2.) Keep the costs of the energy tree applications the same, that being $15.00
per appl.
3.) Most other items on the page looked good
2002 Energv Tree Plantin
Schnobrich suggested that due to loss of personnel for the 2002 season that the energy trees
be planted under contract. Deane Dietel suggested hiring vocational students for the two to
three week period just for the sole purpose of planting. Mark will contact Garey Knudsen
or Dennis Schroeder for possible insight into that option.
Soil Enhancement Reauirements
The board discussed continuing the requirement for developers to amend the soils in each
subdivision. Schnobrich reported that he had presented the idea to the city planning staff
and Julie Wischnack directed Mark to contact additional developers to get ideas and their
thoughts on the feasibility of the requirements.
Other Business
Deane Dietel mentioned that Lions Park West had poor lighting and recommended that
crews look into it's efficiency.
With no other business the meeting was adjourned at 7:05 PM.
