Hutchinson Library Board Meeting
April 27, 2004
Present: Kay Johnson, Julie Jensen, John Hassinger, aviary Henke (Librarian1. Newt Patter,
Larry Ladd, and Connie Lambert
Absent: Kay Peterson
The meeting was coiled to order by Julie Jensen, Vice - President. Minutes from the last
meeting were reviewed and approved.
Reports:
] , Report on P oneerland Literary System Banquet an April 15, 2004
The program was successful with many positive comments. Many
toured the library prior to the banquet.
2. Meeting between McLeod Co- Comm issioners /Libr ❑ries
Budge] presentation to county commissioners is scheduled for May 4, 2004 at
10:30 a.m. at the County Coudhouse in Glencoe. Library will request a 3%
increose for 2005.
Old Business,
1. Building Restorotion
A. Reshingling is being considered for roof on originol part of library in Fall. 2004
B. The fountoin is being built and on schedule for completion by j00tn
anniversary.
C. Considerafiork is being given to putting planters around library grounds.
Library Board is in agreement for placing of planers around Library Square.
2. 100th Anniversory Cornmittee report
All is proceeding. Bookmarks are complete_ Invitatlo.rs are to be mailed the end
of May.
3. Julie Jensen and John Hassinger have been reappointed to the Library Board_
4. Need to take a look at the concept of community forums.
New Business:
1. Archie Kucera has resigned effective June 1. A job description is developed_
Recognition is to be plonned with the City.
2. Election oi! Officers The following slate of officers was elected.
President: Connie Larn Bert
Vice - President Julie Jensen
o- Secretories John Hossinoger and Newt Potter.
S. Work is being done on gathering partraits of the six people who have served as
Librarians.
5_ Donations of past month to the `° C elebrating 100 Years" Soak Drive have
ranged from $6.00 to $500.00.
