09-17-2009 APM+HUTCHINSON AIRPORT COMMISSION September 17, 2009 5:30 p.m. Airport Arrival/Departure Building Minutes Members present: Chuck Brill, Doug McGraw, Dick Freeman, Juli Neuharth; Members absent: Joel Schwarze, Mayor Cook Others Present: John Olson, City of Hutchinson; Tom Parker, Hutchinson Aviation; Meeting called to order at 5:30 p.m. There was a quorum of members present. 1. Approve Minutes of August 20, 2009 meetings Motion made by Neuharth, second by McGraw to approve minutes. Unanimous approval. 2. Airport Commission Doug McGraw (to 09/09, first full-term) Joel Schwarze (to 09/10, first full -term) Chuck Brill (to 09/11, second full -term) Dick Freeman (to 09/12, first full -term) Juli Neuharth (to 09/13, first full-term) Steve Cook (Council representative) Commission will inquire of Mayor Cook regarding Mr. McGraw's second term. 3. Review Updated Hangar Assignments Updated map — Commission reviewed updated map Updated priority list Hangar activity: One open hangar is available. One hangar was rented in September 4. Operational Issues (Open Proiects) 2009 Project — Groundbreaking — Photo of ground breaking ceremony was taken by the Hutch Leader. Commissioners asked to work with the Hutch Leader on story as opportunities for `candid' photos of the construction become available. Preconstruction meeting was held yesterday. Expect project to start in late September. 5. Future Proiects CIP Development Meetings. — On September 23, FAA & Mn/DOT will be hosting CIP meetings at the airport. Of concern for us next year should be pavement maintenance on the runway to address transvers cracking. 4. Other Discussions/ New Business Bov Scout Activities. Tim Miller has requested use of the airport for the Boy Scouts, a group of Scouts from the District will be at the airport for aviation - related activities, including an airshow. Only a few Scouts will be camping on airport grounds, with the majority camping at the McLeod County Fairgrounds. Amenities available will be similar to past events. Motion by Neuharth, second by Freeman to allow Boy Scout Activities at airport. Unanimous approval. At 6:20, a motion to adjourn was made by Neuharth, second by Freeman. Unanimous approval.
