Hutchinson Police Commission Minutes
The Hutchinson Police Commission held a meeting on Tuesday May 16, 2023 at the Hutchinson Police Station. Present
at the meeting were, Commissioner Kim Pearson, Commissioner Liz Cheney and Chief Tom Gifferson.
Call the Meeting to Order:
Commissioner Liz Cheney called the meeting to order at 4:45 pm.
Approval of Agenda:
Commissioner Cheney asked if there were any changes to the May agenda. Commissioner Pearson made a motion
to accept the agenda as written, seconded by Commissioner Cheney. The motion carried unanimously.
Approval of Minutes:
Commissioner Cheney asked the Commission to approve the minutes from the April 18th meeting. Commissioner
Pearson made a motion to accept the minutes as written, seconded by Commissioner Cheney. The motion carried
unanimously.
Rules and Regs:
Staffing Issues:
Chief Gifferson provided the Commission with an update of the Hospital Security hiring process.
Chief Gifferson provided the Commission with an update of the Part-time Police Officer hiring process.
Union Update:
Adjourn: Commissioner Cheney made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Pearson to adjourn the meeting. Motion
carried unanimously. Time of adjournment 4:54 pm.
