Hutchinson Police Commission Minutes
The Hutchinson Police Commission held their annual meeting on Monday February 6, 2023 at the Hutchinson Police
Station. Present at the meeting were Chairperson Matt Beilke, Commissioner Kim Pearson, Commissioner Liz
Cheney and Chief Tom Gifferson.
Call the Meeting to Order:
Chairperson Beilke called the meeting to order at 4:45 p.m.
Approval of Agenda:
Chairperson Beilke asked if there were any changes to the February 6 agenda. Commissioner Pearson made a
motion to accept the agenda as written, seconded by Commissioner Cheney. The motion carried unanimously.
Approval of Minutes:
Chairperson Beilke asked the Commission to approve the minutes from the January 2023 meeting. Commissioner
Cheney made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Pearson to approve the meeting minutes. Motion carried
unanimously.
2023 Police Commission Officer Selection:
Commissioner Matt Beilke, Chairperson 2023.
Commissioner Kim Pearson Secretary for 2023.
Commissioner Pearson made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Cheney to re-appoint Chairperson Beilke as
Chairperson. Motion carried unanimously.
Chairperson Beilke made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Cheney to re-appoint Commissioner Pearson as
Secretary. Motion carried unanimously.
2023 Police Commission Meeting Dates:
It was determined the 2023 meeting dates would be held at the Hutchinson Police Station on the third Tuesday of
the month at 4:45 pm. Chairperson Beilke made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Pearson to authorize the
date, time and location of the monthly Police Commission meetings. Motion carried unanimously.
Staffing Issues:
Chief Gifferson provided an update on the Hospital Security hiring process.
Chief Gifferson provided a update on the Part-time Police Officer hiring process.
Chief Gifferson informed the Commission of the need to certify eligibility rosters at a later meeting.

No update at this time.
Adjourn: Commissioner Cheney made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Pearson to adjourn the meeting.
Motion carried unanimously. Time of adjournment 5:05 pm.
