Hutchinson Police Commission Minutes
The Hutchinson Police Commission held a meeting on Monday February 7, 2022 at the Hutchinson Police Station.
Present at the meeting were Chairperson Todd Brandel, Commissioner Matt Beilke, Commissioner Kim Pearson and
Chief Tom Gifferson.
Call the Meeting to Order:
Chairperson Todd Brandel called the meeting to order at 4:45 p.m.
Approval of Agenda:
Chairperson Brandel asked if there were any changes to the agenda. Commissioner Beilke made a motion to accept
the agenda as written, seconded by Commissioner Pearson. The motion carried unanimously.
Approval of Minutes:
Chairperson Brandel asked the Commission to approve the minutes from the January 2022 meeting. Commissioner
Pearson made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Beilke to approve the meeting minutes. Motion carried
unanimously.
2022 Police Commission Officer Selection:
Commissioner Matt Beilke, Chairperson 2022.
Commissioner Kim Pearson Secretary for 2022.
Commissioner Pearson made a motion, seconded by Chairperson Brandel to appoint Commissioner Beilke as
Chairperson. Motion carried unanimously.
Commissioner Beilke made a motion, seconded by Chairperson Brandel to appoint Commissioner Pearson as
Secretary. Motion carried unanimously.
2022 Police Commission Meeting Dates:
It was determined the 2022 meeting dates would be held at the Hutchinson Police Station on the third Tuesday of
the month at 4:45 pm. Commissioner Beilke made a motion, seconded by Chairperson Brandel to authorize the
date, time and location of the monthly Police Commission meetings. Motion carried unanimously.
Staffing Issues:
Chief Gifferson asked for approval to start a hiring process to backfill a vacancy. Chairperson Brandel made a motion
to approve the process seconded by Chairperson Pearson. Motion passed unanimously.
Chief Gifferson updated the Commission regarding the officer on leave.
Chief Gifferson gave progress report for Brandon Lietzau.

No update at this time.
Adjourn: Commissioner Beilke made a motion, seconded by Chairperson Brandel to adjourn the meeting. Motion
carried unanimously. Time of adjournment 5: pm.
