Hutchinson Police Commission Minutes
The Hutchinson Police Commission held a meeting on Tuesday March 15, 2022 at the Hutchinson Police Station.
Present at the meeting were, Chairperson Matt Beilke, Commissioner Todd Brandel, and Chief Tom Gifferson.
Call the Meeting to Order:
Chairperson Matt Beilke called the meeting to order at 4:45 pm.
Approval of Agenda:
Chairperson Matt Beilke asked if there were any changes to the March agenda. Commissioner Brandel made a motion
to accept the agenda as written, seconded by Chairperson Beilke. The motion carried unanimously.
Approval of Minutes:
Chairperson Matt Beilke asked the Commission to approve the minutes from the February 2022 meeting. Chairperson
Beilke made a motion to accept the minutes as written, seconded by Commissioner Brandel. The motion carried
unanimously.
Staffing Issues:
Chief Gifferson informed the Commission that Part-time Hospital Security Officer Brandon Lietzau had completed Field
Training.
Chief Gifferson informed the Commission that a police officer continues to be on administrative re-assignment pending
an internal investigation
Chief Gifferson asked the Commission to approve re-assigning Officer Ben Huebner from Part-time to Full time.
Commissioner Brandel made a motion to approve the re-assignment, seconded by Chairperson Beilke. The motion
carried unanimously.
Rules and Regs:
Union Update:
Chief Gifferson informed the Commission that the sergeants would be ratifying their contract within the next month.
Chief Gifferson also advised the Commission that the patrol staff contract negotiations were ongoing.
Adjourn: Commissioner Brandel made a motion, seconded by Chairperson Beilke to adjourn the meeting. Motion
carried unanimously. Time of adjournment 5:00 pm
Next meeting is Monday February 7, 2022 at 4:45 pm.
