Hutchinson Police Commission Minutes
The Hutchinson Police Commission held a meeting on Tuesday July 20, 2021 at the Hutchinson Police Station.
Present at the meeting were Chairperson Todd Brandel, Commissioner Kim Pearson, Commissioner Matt Beilke, and
Chief Tom Gifferson.
Call the Meeting to Order:
Chairperson Todd Brandel called the meeting to order at 4:45 p.m.
Approval of Agenda:
Chairperson Brandel asked if there were any changes to the agenda. Commissioner Pearson made a motion to
accept the agenda, seconded by Commissioner Beilke. The motion carried unanimously.
Approval of Minutes:
Chairperson Brandel asked the Commission to approve the minutes from the May 18, 2021 meeting. Commissioner
Beilke made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Pearson to approve the meeting minutes. Motion carried
unanimously.
Staffing Issues:
Chief Gifferson informed the Commission that two candidates were currently being backgrounded for the Part-Time
Hospital Security Position.
Chief Gifferson provided an update on the progress of Part-Time Police Officer Ben Huebner.
Rules and Regulations:
Chief Gifferson briefed the Commission on the new mandated reporting for officer misconduct.
Union Update:
Chief Gifferson informed the Commission that the sergeants have ratified their contract.

None.
Adjourn: Chairperson Brandel made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Pearson to adjourn the meeting. Motion
carried unanimously. Time of adjournment 4:52 pm.
