Hutchinson Police Commission Minutes
The Hutchinson Police Commission held a meeting on Tuesday September 21, 2021 at the Hutchinson Police
Station. Present at the meeting were Chairperson Todd Brandel, Commissioner Kim Pearson, and Chief Tom
Gifferson.
Call the Meeting to Order:
Chairperson Todd Brandel called the meeting to order at 4:45 p.m.
Approval of Agenda:
Chairperson Brandel asked if there were any changes to the agenda. Commissioner Pearson made a motion to
accept the agenda, seconded by Chairperson Brandel. The motion carried unanimously.
Approval of Minutes:
Chairperson Brandel asked the Commission to approve the minutes from the August, 2021 meeting. Commissioner
Pearson made a motion, seconded by Chairperson Brandel to approve the meeting minutes. Motion carried
unanimously.
Staffing Issues:
Chief Gifferson informed the Commission that Brenton Larson had been hired to fill Part-Time Hospital Security
position.
Chief Gifferson provided an update on the progress of Part-Time Hospital Security Officer Cory Behrendt and his
completion of field training.
Chief Gifferson informed the Commission Full time Hospital Security Officer Jake Burmis has requested a job
classification from full-time to part-time, which had been granted.
Chief Gifferson requested the Commission to approve appointing apart-time hospital security officer to a full-time
status if any were interested. Commisioner Pearson made a motion to approve the request, seconded by Chairman
Brandel. Motion carried unanimously.
Rules and Regulations:
Commissioner Beilke has been re-appointed to the Commission.

Adjourn: Chairperson Brandel made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Pearson to adjourn the meeting. Motion
carried unanimously. Time of adjournment 4:50 pm.
