Hutchinson Police Commission Minutes
The Hutchinson Police Commission held a meeting on Tuesday December 21, 2021 at the Hutchinson Police Station.
Present at the meeting were Chairperson Todd Brandel, Commissioner Kim Pearson, Commissioner Matt Beilke and
Chief Tom Gifferson.
Call the Meeting to Order:
Chairperson Todd Brandel called the meeting to order at 4:45 p.m.
Approval of Agenda:
Chairperson Brandel asked if there were any changes to the agenda. Commissioner Beilke made a motion to accept
the agenda, seconded by Commissioner Pearson. The motion carried unanimously.
Approval of Minutes:
Chairperson Brandel asked the Commission to approve the minutes from the October 2021 and November, 2021
meetings. Commissioner Pearson made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Beilke to approve the meeting
minutes from both meetings. Motion carried unanimously.
Staffing Issues:
Chief Gifferson informed the Commission that Elizabeth Gornick will complete field training on December 4.
Chief Gifferson informed the Commission that Lucas Caturia had begun field training.
Chief Gifferson informed the Commission that Elizabeth Gornick had been selected to backfill the open full-time
hospital security position.
Rules and Regulations:
Union Update:
Chief Gifferson informed the commission that contract negotiations had begun for both police officers and sergeants.
Items from the Floor:
Chief Gifferson gave an update on the progress of the new building.
Adjourn: Commissioner Beilke made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Pearson, to adjourn the meeting. Motion
carried unanimously. Time of adjournment 4:56 pm.
