Hutchinson Police Commission Minutes
The Hutchinson Police Commission held a meeting on Tuesday August 18, 2020 at the Hutchinson Police Station.
Present at the meeting were Chairperson Todd Brandel, Commissioner Kim Pearson, Commissioner Matt Beilke and
Chief Tom Gifferson.
Call the Meeting to Order:
Chairperson Brandel called the meeting to order at 5:00 pm.
Approval of Agenda:
Chairperson Brandel asked if there were any changes to the August agenda. Commissioner Pearson made a motion
to accept the agenda as written, seconded by Commissioner Beilke. The motion carried unanimously.
Approval of Minutes:
Chairperson Brandel asked the Commission to approve the minutes from the July 2020 meeting. Commissioner Beilke
made a motion to accept the minutes as written, seconded by Commissioner Pearson. The motion carried
unanimously.
Staffing Issues:
Chief Gifferson updated Commission on Police Officer Hiring Process.
Chief Gifferson gave progress report regarding Communication Specialist Amber Cross.
Chief Gifferson gave progress report regarding Communication Specialist Tracey Bergum.
Chief Gifferson briefed the Commission regarding officer on leave.
Union Update:
Chief Gifferson informed the Commission that the sergeants had yet to set a date for negotiations.

Adjourn: Commissioner Beilke made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Pearson to adjourn the meeting. Motion
carried unanimously. Time of adjournment 5:06pm.
