03-18-2020 POLM Hutchinson Police Commission Minutes
The Hutchinson Police Commission held a meeting on Wednesday March 18, 2020 at the Hutchinson Police Station.
Present at the meeting were Chairperson Todd Brandel, Commissioner Matt Beilke and Chief Tom Gifferson.
Call the Meeting to Order:
Chairperson Brandel called the meeting to order at 5:00 pm.
Approval of Agenda:
Chairperson Brandel asked if there were any changes to the March agenda. Commissioner Beilke made a motion to
accept the agenda as written, seconded by Chairperson Brandel. The motion carried unanimously.
Approval of Minutes:
Chairperson Brandel asked the Commission to approve the minutes from the February 2020 meeting. Commissioner
Beilke made a motion to accept the minutes with a correction to the date on the document, seconded by Chairperson
Brandel. The motion carried unanimously.
Staffing Issues:
Chief Gifferson updated the commission on the status of Officer Greg Nadeau.
Chief Gifferson updated the commission on the hiring progress for part—time Hospital Security Officer.
Chief Gifferson updated the commission on the progress of the Communication Specialist hiring process.
Union Update:
Chief Gifferson informed the Commission that the negotiations meeting scheduled for Tuesday March 17, was
postponed due to COVID-19.
Chief Gifferson informed the Commission that the sergeants would be meeting with a union representative.

Adjourn: Commissioner Beilke made a motion, seconded by Chairperson Brandel to adjourn the meeting. Motion
carried unanimously. Time of adjournment 5:14pm.
