04-21-2020 POLM Hutchinson Police Commission Minutes The Hutchinson Police Commission held a meeting on Tuesday April 21, 2020 at the Hutchinson Police Station. Present at the meeting were Chairperson Todd Brandel, Commissioner Kim Pearson and Chief Tom Gifferson. Call the Meeting to Order: Chairperson Brandel called the meeting to order at 5:00 pm. Approval of Agenda: Chairperson Brandel asked if there were any changes to the April agenda. Commissioner Pearson made a motion to accept the agenda as written, seconded by Chairperson Brandel. The motion carried unanimously. Approval of Minutes: Chairperson Brandel asked the Commission to approve the minutes from the March 2020 meeting. Commissioner Pearson made a motion to accept the minutes as written, seconded by Chairperson Brandel. The motion carried unanimously. Staffing Issues: Chief Gifferson updated the commission on the status of Officer Greg Nadeau. Chief Gifferson updated the commission on the progress of the Communication Specialist hiring process. Chief Gifferson informed the Commission of Communication Specialist Kati Kuhnau's resignation. Union Update: Chief Gifferson informed the Commission that the City Council had approved the contract but the officers have yet to vote on it. Chief Gifferson informed the Commission that the sergeants would be casting ballots for union representation and the ballets would be tabulated on May 5 at 0900am. Items from the Floor: None Adjourn: Commissioner Pearson made a motion, seconded by Chairperson Brandel to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried unanimously. Time of adjournment 5:13pm.
