Hutchinson Police Commission Minutes
The Hutchinson Police Commission held a meeting on Tuesday November 19, 2019 at the Hutchinson Police Station.
Present at the meeting were Commissioner Todd Brandel, Commissioner Kim Pearson, Matt Bielke and Chief Tom
Gifferson.
Call the Meeting to Order:
Chairperson Brandel called the meeting to order at 5:00 pm.
Approval of Agenda:
Chairperson Brandel asked if there were any changes to the November agenda. Commissioner Pearson made a
motion to accept the agenda as written, seconded by Chairperson Brandel. The motion carried unanimously.
Approval of Minutes:
Chairperson Brandel asked the Commission to approve the minutes from the October 2019 meeting. Commissioner
Pearson made a motion to accept the minutes as written, seconded by Chairperson Brandel. The motion carried
unanimously.
Staffing Issues:
Chief Gifferson updated the commission on the status of Officer Greg Nadeau.
Chief Gifferson updated the commission on the progress of Hospital Security Officer Taylor Stockman.
Chief Gifferson updated the commission on the progress of the full-time police officer position. Chief Gifferson
advised the commission the final tasks associated with the hiring process were nearly complete and expected Taylor
to begin employment on December 9, 2019.
Chief Gifferson advised the Commission of the Department station meeting and swearing-in ceremony on November
25, 2019.
Commission Rules Review:
This item was tabled.
Union Update:
Chief Gifferson informed the Commission that the City is currently in labor negotiations with Minnesota Public
Employees Association.

Adjourn: Commissioner Pearson made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Brandel to adjourn the meeting.
Motion carried unanimously. Time of adjournment 5:12 pm.
