MAY 8, 1973
The meeting was called to order at 8.45 p.m. by Vice -Mayor Black for
the purpose of canvassing votes in the special election held on this
date.
Members present were: Alderman D. J. Black, Alderman Ralph D. Westlund
and Alderman Leslie B. Linder and Alderman Jay F. Alrick.
Members absent were: Mayor Don 0. Kost
Also present were: Administrative As,.istant Healey and City Attorney
M. D. Schantzen.
The votes having been counted were found to ba as follo,vs:
"Shall the City of Hutchinson conyinue the "off -sale" dispensa-
tion of liquor at the municipal store ani be authorized to
issue private "on -sale" licenses to hotels and restaurants as
defined in M.S. 340.07?"

The foregoing is a true and correct canvass of the returns of the Special
Election held in the Armory, City of Hutchinson, County of McLeod on
May 8, 1973 .from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m..
We the undersigned Canvassing Board, as a res.jlt of said canvass, do
find and certify that the foregoing referendum was passed.

Vice President Black introduced the subject of policy concerning issuing
'Ton -sale" licenses for liquor. Alderman Westlund then introduced the
following resolution and moved its adoption. Alde,^man Lindar seconded
the motion and .ipon vote being taken, all members present voted "aye"
whereupon said resolution was declared adopted. "Resolution No. 5230 -

A report was received from ISD 423, purusant to meeting of the School
Board, that they have approved letting of the bid received from Duinine<
Brothers and Gilchrist of Olivia for construction of tennis courts.
There being no further business before the CoTzneil, the meeting was
adjourned at 9:14 p.m.
