04-04-1974 CCMMINUTES SPECIAL MEETING CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF HUTCHINSON, MINNESOTA APRIL 4, 1974 - 9:00 A.M. The Council met in special meeting pursuant to the call of the Mayor. Present were Mayor Black, Aldermen Westlund, Lueneburg, Haag and Acklund. Also present were Administrative Assistant Mealey and Les Bullert. After preliminary discussion and presentation of revenue experience the Council agreed to support the increase in prices at the land- fill to $1 per compacted yard. In exchange, the City would be relieved of the obligation to pay subsidy to the landfil operation. All parties agreeing, Mr. Westlund moved approval of agreement and that the Mayor and Clerk be authorized to enter into the agreement with Bullert Construction Company. Alderman Lueneburg seconded. All present voted "aye" and the motion was declared passed. Mr. Bullert left and Mr. Jim Junker arrived. Cost of collection of trash and refuse and the current contract provisions were discussed at great length. Mr. Junker finally offered to accept a 25� increase in the rate paid'and guarantee that rate for the next three calendar years. Mr. Westlund moved approval of these terms with the provision that the new rate of collection would first appear on the statements sent on July 1, 1974 and remittance to Mr. Junker would follow this schedule. Alderman Haag seconded and all present voted "aye". The motion was declared passed and the Mayor and Clerk were authorized to enter into agreement with Junker Sanitation Service for trash and refuse pickup according to the terms agreed to. There being no further business to come before the Council, adjourn- ment was called at 10:15 A.M.
