SPECIAL MEETING
HUTCHINSON CITY COUNCIL
MAY 15, 1974 12:00 Noon
Pursuant to the call of the Mayor, the Hutchinson City Council met
in a special session on this date. Present were Mayor Black,
Aldermen Westlund, Lueneburg, Haag, and Ackland.
Alderman Lueneburg moved that the Mayor and Clerk be directed to
enter into agreement with the firm of Horty-Elving and Associates
for preliminary work on clinic building at the Hospital and design,
if the building is approved, as recommended by the Hospital Board.
Seconded by Alderman Haag and all present voted "aye".
Alderman Westlund moved that the Personnel Policy of the City be
amended in the following particulars:
Section 10, Subdivision 2 shall be amended to read as follows:
Sick leave shall be allowed at the rate of one (1) day for each
calendar month of full time service. Unused sick leave may be
accumulated to a maximum of ninety (90) days. [Present Section
10, Subdivision 1 shall be deleted.]
Section 9 shall be amended to read as follows:
Vacation leave shall be allowed at the rate of one (1) week after
completion of twelve (12) months continuous service; two (2)
weeks per year after completion of two (2) years of continuous
service; three (3) weeks per year after completion of ten (10)
years of continuous service and four (4) weeks after completion
of fifteen (15) years of continuous service. Employees with
more than six years of service as of May 1, 1974 shall continue
the present system until they obtain ten (10) years of service
and then shall be allowed three (3) weeks vacation. Employees
with more than ten (10) years of service as of May 1, 1974 shall
be allowed three (3) weeks of vacation in the calendar year 1974.
Employees with fifteen (15) years of service shall be allowed
four (4) weeks vacation within the calendar year 1974. [The
balance of this section shall be unchanged.]
Alderman Ackland seconded the motion and all present voted "aye".
There being no further business to come before the Council,
adjournment was called at 12:30 P.M.

Mayor Black called the meeting to order at the hour of 10:00 A.M.
for the purpose to conduct the Board of Equalization.
Members present were: Aldermen Westlund, Lueneburg, Ackland,
and Haag in addition to Mayor Black. Members absent were: none.
Also present were: Administrative Assistant Mealey, County
Assessor Wesley Abrams, and Deputy Assessors Greg Troska and
Anthony Victorian.
The following were present to ask questions and gather informa-
tion. (TEXT)
After all people present were heard the meeting adjourned at
2:30 P.M., at which time the City officials commenced to view
2 properties.
