SPECIAL MEETING
CITY COUNCIL
May 22, 1974
The Hutchinson City Council convened in special meeting, pursuant to call
of the Mayor at 11:30 A.M. in the Council Chambers, City Hall. Present
were Mayor Black, Alderman Lueneburg and Ackland.
Approval was given to Department Heads to attend a seminar on OSHA inspec-
tions, to be held Wednesday morning, May 29, 1974, at Brooklyn Center at a
cost of $8 per person. Each to pay his own registration and be reimbursed.
The Administrative Assistant was directed to inform the Utilities Commis-
sion that there is no need for the garage building on Highway 7 nor the
downtown office building, although there may be some use for the gas divi-
sion building on Jefferson Street, and to ask that they establish a firm
price for that building so that the Council could consider the cost weighed
against possible uses.
A notice of the Minnesota Highway Department asking cooperation in the seal
coating, of Washington from Main to Adams, this summer was considered and
the City Engineer was directed to notify the department that the City would
participate to the extent indicated in the request.
Building Inspector Willard was asked to devise rough estimates of the cost
of rehabilitation of the old Armory in the event that the City were to buy
it for general government uses.
There being no further business to come before the Council, adjournment was
called at 11:50 A.M.
