10-31-1989 CCMMINUTES SPECIAL MEETING - HUTCHINSON CITY COUNCIL TUESDAY, OCTOBER 31, 1989 1. The special meeting was called to order at 4:30 P.M. by Mayor Ackland. The following were present: Mayor Paul L. Ackland, Aldermen John Mlinar, Marlin Torgerson and Pat Mikulecky. Absent: Alderman Mike Carls. Also present: City Administrator Gary D. Plotz and Finance Director Kenneth B. Merrill. 2. ORDINANCE NO. 89-10 - AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 2, SECTION 3.11 OF THE 2ND SERIES CITY CODE OF THE CITY OF HUTCHINSON ENTITLED SALARIES OF MAYOR AND ALDERMEN The motion was made by Alderman Torgerson, seconded by Alderman Mikulecky, to waive second reading and adopt Ordinance No. 89-10. Alderman Mikulecky amended the motion to include a per diem payment to the Mayor, limited to a total of $1,020.00 per year. Amended motion seconded by Alderman Torger- son and unanimously carried. Main motion carried unanimously. 3. CONSIDERATION OF SECOND READING OF ORDINANCE REZONING FORMER REESE PROPERTY FROM R-2 TO C-2 (DEFERRED SEPTEMBER 28, 1989) The site plan for the proposed Burger King was presented to the Council. Following discussion, Alderman Torgerson moved to waive second reading and adopt Ordinance No. 89-07 in reference to the blueprints and drawings dated October 12, 1989. Motion seconded by Alderman Mikulecky and unanimously carried. 4. CONSIDERATION OF QUIT CLAIM DEED FOR DRIVEWAY EASEMENT FROM R & T CO. Following discussion, Alderman Mikulecky moved to defer to the next regular Council meeting to obtain additional information. Motion seconded by Alder- man Mlinar and unanimously carried. 5. APPOINTMENTS: a) DELORES BRUNNER - PIONEERLAND LIBRARY SYSTEM BOARD b) MURRAY SWENSON - CITY TREE BOARD c) VIRGIL VOIGT - CITY TREE BOARD Alderman Torgerson moved to ratify the appointments. Motion seconded by Alderman Mlinar and unanimously carried. 6. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 4:43 P.M.
