04-10-2014 PACMMINUTES HUTCHINSON PUBLIC ARTS COMMISSION Thursday, April 10th, 2014 Main Conference Room 1. CALL TO ORDER 3:35 P.M. The meeting was called to order by Mr. Schroeder at 3:34 p.m. with the following members present: Audrey Hollatz, Jon Otteson, Mary Christensen, Dolf Moon, Dan Jochum, and Tinea Graham. Also Present: Brandon Sobotta. 2. CONSENT AGENDA a) Consideration of Minutes dated March 13th, 2014 Ms. Hollatz made a motion to approve the minutes from March 13th, 2014 Seconded by Mr. Otteson, the motion carried unanimously. 3. NEW BUSINESS -none- 4. OLD BUSINESS a) Call to Artists — The vote took place for sculpture competition. The following are the winners and places their sculptures will be placed. • Artist: Lee Leuning o Piece: Saturday's Distractions o Place: Library Square • Artist: Lee Leuning o Piece: Shepherd o Place: Church near City Center • Artist Nicholas Legeros o Piece: Hillaway Ponies o Place: Pedestrian bridge over river • Artist: Lance Carleton o Fat Tire, Edition #6 o Shopko (Main St. and 1St Ave. NW) • Artist: Heidi Hoy o Piece: Jack o West River Park near Riversong Stage. The plan is to place the artwork closer to the stage rather than by the trail. Ms. Hollatz made a motion to approve the 6 sculptures for Call to Artists Competition. Seconded by Mr. Otteson, the motion carried unanimously. b) Sculpture Stroll Prep for 2014 — none c) Baby Sculpture — none 5. Other Discussion a) Indoor Sculptures: Discussion took place among the commission about having two indoor sculptures for the 2015 competition 6. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business the meeting adjourned at 4:40 p.m.
