08-17-2015 POLMHutchinson Police Commission Minutes
The Hutchinson Police Commission held a meeting on Monday August 17, 2015 at the Hutchinson Police Station.
Present at the meeting were Chairperson Todd Brandel, Commissioner Jo Piehl, Curtis Hughes, and Chief Daniel
Hatten.
Call the Meeting to Order:
The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Todd Brandel at 5:15 p.m.
Approval of Agenda:
Chairperson Brandel asked if there were any changes to the agenda. A motion was made by Commissioner Hughes
to accept the agenda as written, seconded by Commissioner Piehl. The motion carried unanimously.
Approval of Minutes:
Chairperson Brandel asked the Commission to approve the minutes from the July 2015 meeting. Motion was made
by Commissioner Piehl, seconded by Commissioner Hughes to approve the meeting minutes. Motion carried
unanimously.
Staffing Issues:
Chief Hatten informed the Police Commission the two new Part-time Hospital Security Officers Jacob Willers and
Joshua Phillips have just completed their training and working on their own.
Chief Hatten informed the Police Commission Officer Hanneman had submitted his resignation effective August 5,
2015. Officer accepted a position with the Minneapolis Police Department.
Chief Hatten informed the Police Commission the application process and written test for Police Officer was now
completed and the 1 round of interviews for 40 applicants would begin on Monday August 24t"
Chief Hatten informed the Police Commission the testing and interview processes for Communication Specialist was
completed with 8 finalists being brought forward for the Commission's consideration
Chief Hatten requested the Police Commission to certify the list of 8 candidates who successfully completed testing
process. A motion was made by Commissioner Hughes to certify the list of candidates for Communication Specialist,
seconded by Commissioner Piehl. The motion carried unanimously.

Adjourn: Motion was made by Chairperson Brandel, seconded by Commissioner Piehl to adjourn the meeting.
Motion carried unanimously. Time of adjournment 5:40 pm.
