06-15-2015 POLMHutchinson Police Commission Minutes
The Hutchinson Police Commission held a meeting on Monday June 15, 2015 at the Hutchinson Police Station.
Present at the meeting were Chairperson Todd Brandel, Commissioner Jo Piehl, and Lieutenant Tom Gifferson.
Call the Meeting to Order:
The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Todd Brandel at 5:24 p.m.
Approval of Agenda:
Chairperson Brandel asked if there were any changes to the agenda. A motion was made by Commissioner Piehl to
accept the agenda as written, seconded by Chairperson Brandel. The motion carried unanimously.
Approval of Minutes:
Chairperson Brandel asked the Commission to approve the minutes from the May 2015 meeting. Motion was made
by Commissioner Piehl, seconded by Chairperson Brandel to approve the meeting minutes. Motion carried
unanimously.
Staffing Issues:
Lt. Gifferson informed the Police Commission we were waiting on the results from the Part-time Hospital Security
Officer medical and psychological testing.
Lt. Gifferson informed the Police Commission Nicolas Simon declined the offer for the full-time Police Officer position.
Lt. Gifferson requested authorization to begin the Police Officer Hiring process since the list expires. Commission
authorized the hiring process for the Police Officer position.
Lt. Gifferson requested authorization to begin the Communication Specialist Hiring process. Commission authorized
the hiring process for the Communication Specialist position.
Union Update:
Nothing to report at this time

Adjourn: Motion was made by Commissioner Piehl, seconded by Chairperson Brandel to adjourn the meeting.
Motion carried unanimously. Time of adjournment 5:29 pm.
