approved.

along with button sales of $55, and birdhouse sales of $40. The Giving Program still
has a current balance of $1781 in the account. Judy made a motion to accept the
report with a second from Barb. The motion passed.
IV. Old Business
A. Tours- Julie Jensen reported that a June outing to the Black Bear Lodge in
Baxter for lunch followed by a visit to the Akeley Woodtick Theater for a musical
comedy review went off without any issues. The July tour was to Wadena for
lunch and then on to the Douglas Lodge on Lake Itasca for a boat ride. Upcoming
trips include an August tour to Scandia which is sold out and a State Fair trip in
early September which has 23 people registered so far. The mystery tour for
October is already sold out. In the planning stages we have a tour to the Raptor
Center at the U of M, which will also include stops at the restored Depot and a
driving tour of Fort Snelling. A Frank Sinatra review at the Plymouth Playhouse
is scheduled for December.
B. Update on Programs- September reported that the Music and Memories program
was very interesting. Therapy involving music can impact people physically.
Headphones played an important part in the therapy as it blocks out background
noise. Woodstone was involved in providing this presentation. A band was also
included as part of the production and there were 65 people in attendance. The
Fellowship Dinner has 30 signed up for a build your own burger night. A
kayaking group went to Manuella with a dozen people involved and then Round
Lake with eight people participating. On August 5th they are meeting at Kouba
Point and then they will head back to Manuella on the 24th. "Elsa & Fred" was
okay for the movie of the month. "Alexander and The Terrible, Rotten, No Good
Day" is playing today. On August 19th and 20th ,McFarland" will be showing.
Discussion of indoor golf was tabled and September may check with the high
school to see what they do. Heart of Hutchinson is hosting an event on Saturday
September 26th with most of the PRCE staff involved. It will be a grand opening
for the new paved trail that will be completed by then.
V. Business
A. Fall Concert- The Church of Cash band will be performing a second concert on
Saturday, October 10th. They will be bringing a female singer along this time
and more lights. Tickets are already made. We will use assigned tables again.
Hoping to sell tickets at least a month in advance. Four sponsors are on board
so far.
B. Jackpot Junction Fundraiser- The Jackpot Junction fundraiser has been
cancelled as they are no longer providing this opportunity.
C. Booth Mall with Woodstone- The mall is putting on an exhibit on October 3rd
sponsored by Woodstone and they would like the Senior Center involved. The
board left the decision up to September as she has begun doing some activities
with the assistance of Woodstone.
D. Other- Don asked that the board item about reporting results to the Leader of
Senior Center activities be dropped as an agenda item as it would probably
result in a lot of the same names being submitted from week to week. There
was also some discussion about giving further recognition to some volunteers
that go above and beyond the call of duty as a volunteer. The board reached a
consensus that we not get into this type of recognition as it may lead to hard
feelings on the part of other volunteers.
VI. Adjournment: Curt made a motion to adjourn at 11:18 am with a second from Barb.
The motion passed.
Our next meeting is scheduled for Monday, August 24th at 10:00 a.m.
John McRaith, Secretary
