REGULAR MEETING — HUTCHINSON CITY COUNCIL
TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 24, 2015
1. CALL TO ORDER — 5:30 P.M.
Mayor Gary Forcier called the meeting to order. Members present were Mary Christensen, John Lofdahl,
Bill Arndt, and Chad Czmowski. Others present were Matt Jaunich, City Administrator, Marc Sebora,
City Attorney and Kent Exner, City Engineer
2. INVOCATION — Rev. Gerhard Bode, Peace Lutheran Church, delivered the invocation.

Motion by Christensen, second by Czmowski, to approve the minutes of the regular meeting of
February 10, 2015. Motion carried unanimously.

HUTCH CAB COMPANY, LLC
Motion by Czmowski, second by Christensen, to approve issuing tax service license to Hutchinson
Taxi Cab Company, LLC. Motion carried unanimously.

13. MISCELLANEOUS
Mary Christensen — Council Member Christensen proposed a question in regards to the ice removal
salt brine solution. Public Works Supervisor John Olson presented before Council. Olson explained that
200 gallons of salt brine (sodium chloride) is added to each truck. The primary function is to hold the
sand in place when spread. In warmer weather, it kicks the salt into action. Olson also mentioned that
due to the lack of snow, the City is well under dollars used from last year.
Kent Exner — City Engineer Exner referenced Resolution 14399 — A Resolution Supporting Dedicated
State Funding for City Streets.
Motion by Christensen, second by Lofdahl, to adopt Resolution 14399 — A Resolution Supporting
Dedicated State Funding for City Streets.
Exner updated the Council on Letting No. 3 Pavement Management Program for Shady Ridge and Golf
Course Road. Approximately 50 residents showed for a neighborhood meeting. The residents shared
the desire to have a sidewalk along Golf Course Road; from Heritage to Rolling Greens townhome
development driveway. Exner said this could be accomplished.

Exner advised the Council that the City applied for and received a federal aid grant for the Century Ave
to Hwy 15 project. The grant is $545,000.00 and will be used for the project in 2019.
Matt Jaunich — City Administrator Jaunich noted that candidate filing closed today for Council Member
Seat 3. Bill Arndt is the only candidate that filed for Council Member Seat 3.
