HUTCHINSON POLICE DEPARTMENT FRANK BRODERIUS, Chief of Police 5 Franklin Street North HUTCHINSON, MINNESOTA January 21, 1966 The Honorable Mayor Earl E. Fitzloff and City Council Members Hutchinson, Minnesota Gentlemen: On January 15, 1966, police officer Ed Seale and myself and several aldermen of the City of Hutchinson met as a committee to investigate the bids that we have for our new police radio equipment. After considerable discussion, wq have found that two (2) of the bids, T. W. Communications and Leo's Electronics in no way complied with the specifications which we had set forth. We did find that General Electric and Motorola's bids complied with out specifications quite closely. During our discussion we decided to eliminate the buying of a highway patrol monitor receiver at this time. General Communications' bid $ 2,583.00 Less monitor receiver 142.00 Total Bid $ 2,441.00 Motorola Communications' bid $ 2,623.75 Less monitor receiver 223.75 Total Bid $ 2,400.00 We as a police department hope that you people will look favorably on this and allow us to buy the Motorola equipment, it being the low bid.
