At the July 13, 1964, meeting Engineer Wilson recommended replacing this
light with a Mercury light. No action was taken. Several complaints
have been made in regard to this corner.

1. Larson Subdivision - Prior to final approval of the plat, Ordinance
235 requires that the subdivider enter into a contract with the
City for the installation of water and sewer services to the property
line of each lot. This contract should provide for either an escrow
deposit or a performance bond for the cost of the services.

REGULAR COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS
December 28, 1964
A Regular Council meeting was called to order by Mayor Rolfe in the Council
Chambers at the hour of 7:30 P.M. Invocation by Rev. Travaille
Members present: Aldermen Hanson, Fitzloff, Johnson, Stearns, Atty
Schantzen, Engineer Wilson, Treasurer Smith
Members absent: None
Motion was made, seconded and carried to approve the minutes of the Regular
Meeting of December 14, 1964.
Motion was made, seconded and carried that the following bills be allowed and
paid out of the proper funds as follows, with the exception of the bill of
M. D. Schantzen in the amount of $350.00.

Motion was made, seconded and carried that the foregoing applicantions be
granted and licenses be issued in accordance with Ordinance No.105.
Motion was made, seconded and carried that the following applications of
Alfred C. Jahnke accompanied by the proper fee of $5.00 to operate one
pool table and $40.00 to operate an eight lane bowling alley at the
Hutchinson Bowl for a period of one year from January 1, 1965 to
December 31, 1965:be granted.
Motion was made, seconded and carried that the application of Mrs. Verna
Hintz, accompanied by the proper fee of $50.00 to operate a popcorn wagon
on the SE corner of the Public Square be granted for a period of one
year from January 1, 1965 to December 31, 1965.
Motion was made, seconded and carried that the application of the
Franklin Amusement Co., State Theater, accompanied by the proper fee of
$100.00 be approved, to operate the State Theater, Washington Ave. E.
for a period of one year from January 1, 1965 to December 31, 1965.
Motion was made, seconded and carried that the application of Russell J.
Meade for a taxi license, accompanied by the proper insurance policy, and
a fee of $3.00, be granted, for a period of one year from Januaryl, 1965
to December 31, 1965. Location of taxi stand at Meade's 1166" Station at
248 Main Street South.
Motion was made, seconded and carried that the application of Ted Hanson
accompanied the proper fee of $25.00 for a roller rink in his own building,
Ted's Rolle rn' g. on Lynn Road S. & Highway #15 be granted for a period of
one year from January 1, 1965 to December 31, 1965.
A list of applicants for Retail Distributers of Milk Routes, for a period of
one year beginning January 1, 1965, and ending December 31, 1965, each
accompanied by the proper fee of $10.00 was presented as follows:

The following applications for hauling garbage for a period of one year beginning
January,'l, 1965, and ending December 31, 1965, each accompanied by the proper
fee of $24.00 was presented as follows:

Motion was made, seconded and carried that the foregoing applications be granted
and licenses be issued in accordance with Ordinance No. 215.
An application accompanied by the proper fee for a reserved parking space on
2nd. Avenue SW adjacent to his office was received from Dr. B. P. Wrbitzky.
Alderman Stearns made a motion to deny the permit and refund the fee.
Alderman Fitzloff seconded the motion of Alderman Stearns, and upon vote being
taken, carried.
Discussion of annexation of the Municipal Airport.
Discussion of a new Ordinance for snow removal. City Attorney Schantzen reported
he is working on a new Ordinance that will include all out dated Ordinances and
will cover new restrictions that have been discussed.
Alderman Fitzloff made a motion that the City Attorney start annexation
of M. Altmeyer and Junice Otterness property that is outside the city limits.
Alderman Hanson seconded the motion of Alderman Fitzloff and upon vote being
taken, carried.

Alderman Stearns introduced the following resolution anmoved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 23.5x8 ? 3 V- I
RESOLUTION ACCEPTING WORK
WHEREAS, pursuant to a written contract signed with the city on
December 28, 1964, Juul Contracting Co. has satisfactorily completed the
improvement of Sanitary Sewer and Water Project 14-2.(Revised),Oak Park
Storm Sewer and the Lewis Aveunue.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF HUTCHINSON,MINNESOTA:
The work completed under said contract is hereby accepted and approved and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the city clerk and mayor are hereby directed
to issue a proper order for the final payment on such contract, taking the
contractor's receipt in full.
Alderman Hanson seconded the motion to adopt said resolution, and upon vote

New hours for the City Hall were approved as follows:
Week days 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. (open noon hour)
Closed Saturday A.M.
Alderman Hanson made a motion to direct the clerk to request loan funds
to pay 80% of cost of building ten hangars at the Municipal Airport. If
approved these funds would be available in 1967.
Alderman Stearns seconded the motion of Alderman Hanson, and upon vote
being taken, carried.
Engineer Wilson recommended replacing X KXXX present street lights
with Mercury lights at the following locations:

A Delegation from the Franklin Street Baptist Church were present to discuss
their plans for remodeling their church. This group had met with the Planning
Commission at their regular meeting.
Motion was made, seconded and carried that the variance permit be granted
as recommended by the Planning Commission, subject to a survey to establish
lot corners.

Alderman Hanson made a motion to approve up to a $100.00 from the Civil
Defense fund to be used by the Civil Air Patrol for repair of equipment.

being taken, carried.
