HUTCHINSON PLANNING COMMISSION
Minutes
April 20, 1959
The Hutchinson Planning Commission met in regular session at 700 P.M. on
Monday, April 20, 1959, in the City Hall. Members present were Drs. Bretslke
and Thompson, Messrs. Comer, Hegdol , Hoel and Torgrimson, and Mrs. N. Stearns.
J. Powers was also present.
Minutes of the March 16 meeting were formally approved as submitted.
A copy of Mr. Bolton's outline of the procedure to follow for approval of
preliminary plats was circulated among the members for suggestions. (A more
complete procedure including form letters for final and preliminary approval
will be forthcoming.)
The Secretary was instructed to forward all communication to the Council in
the form of a letter to the Mayor. ..._
The next item on the agenda was the following petition which the Council had
referred to the Planning Commission for considerations
"Toss The Honorable Mayor and the City Council of the City of Hutchinson,
The undersigned respectfully represents and shows to your Honorable Body as
fol lows
That Bethany Baptist Church is the owner of the West Half of Lot 8, Block 13,
Townsite of Hutchinson, North Half, McLeod County, Minnesota.
And that Robert Schwarze is the owner of the East Half of the said Lot 81, Block
13, Townsite of Hutchinson, North Half, Mcleod County, Minnesotan
The respective owners of the lands described above do hereby Jointly request
your Honorable Body to take such action as may be necessary to place all of
said Lot 8, Block 13, Townsite of Hutchinson, North Half, McLeod County,
Minnesota into the commercial zone and do respectfully reouest that your
Honorable Body initiate the necessary proceedings pursuant to Subdivision 6
of Section 10 of Ordinance No. 73.

After extensive discussion, the Secretary was instructed to return the petition
to the Council with the following resolution which was unanimously adopted,
"The Planning Commission feels that definite use of the property should
be stated in the petition as better controls could be exercised with the
additional information."

with the following exceptions which will be discussed with the Planning Engineer:
Section ll-C4l Page 31.
The meeting formally adjourned.
