11-16-1959 PCM cr 1 HUTCHINSON PLANNING COMMISSION Minutes November 16, 1959 The Hutchinson Planning Commission met in regular session at 7:30 P.M., Monday, November 16, 1059, at the City Hall. The following were presents Dr. C. Bretzke, Messrs. D. Comer, M. Hegdal, F. Hoel, L. Torgrimson, J. Powers, Mrs. N. Stearns® and Mayor 1. Buriche and Dr. A. Thompson. Messrs. F. A. DeLong and D. D. Delong were also present for the first part of the meeting. Minutes of the October 18th meeting were formally approved. The Frank A. DeLong's petition to zone commercial the northeast fifty feet of his lot containing the bicycle shop was read. After considerable discussion and questionning, the following motion was made by Mr. Comer, seconded by Dr. Thompson and unanimously carried: "The Pla ming Commission recommends to the City Council that the Frank A. DeLong petition for commercializing the East 50 Feet of Lot 10, Block 51', Townsite of Hutchinson. North half, be rejected= and that favorable consi- deration be given an application for a non -conforming permit, according to the nrocedure of the present ordinance, provided the Council is furnished with the necessary preliminary petition as required by the present Zoning Ordinance." Mr. Comer reported briefly on behalf of the Zoning Committee and recommended that a meeting be held with the City Council and others interested in discussing the proposed Zoning Ordinance. It was agreed the meeting mould be scheduled as the regular meeting for January. The secretary was instructed to send out notification of this meeting and the Zoning Committee would be responsible for establishing Items for discussion at this meeting. Dr. Thompson reported that the Trailer Ordinance Committee was not prepared to make their report at this meeting. Mrs. Wallace Dobberstein's application for permission to operate a Kiddies Used Garment Exchange in her home at 636 Grove Street South was read and discussed. The following motion was made by Mr. Comer, seconded by Dr. Thompson and unani- mously carried: "The Plannino Com^wission recommends to the City Council that favorable consi- deration be given Mrs. Dobberstein for a non -conforming permit if the procedures required in the present Zoning Ordinance are met." Mayor Burich explained Mr. Bolton's Storm Sewer proposal for the Southeast District of the City in which the major portion of financing would be assessed against the benefiting property owners. After considerable discussion, the following motion was made by Mr. Hoel, seconded by Mr. Torarimson, and unanimously carried: Minutes •2• November 16, 1959 "The Planning Commission endorses and recommends to the City Council that the method )f assessment and financing of storm sewers for the Southeast District of the City as proposed in the Engineers report be adopted," Dr. Bretzke reauested the Planning Commission members meet with the School Board at 6:30 P.M., Thursday, December 3, 1959, at the school lunchroom.
