Minutes
January 22, 1960
A special meeting of the Hutchinson Planning Commission was held Friday noon,
January 22, 1960, at the Jorgenson Hotel. The following members were pr+sent:
Bretzke, Comer, Torgrimson, Thompson, Stearns, and Hegdal®
Dr. Bretzke reported that both Mr. Bolton and Mr. Hawks were in full agreement
that, based on the proposed overall plan for roads, it would not be necessary
to maks provisions for roads through the Catholic Church property in order to
gain access to any prooerty west of their area.
Mr. Hawks had also recommended that, since Lake Street is being proposed as a
major thoroughfare, it would be advisable for the Council to ,,Iequ?st preferably
50 feet. with 40 feet a minimum, on the west side of Lake Street.
After a tong discussion regarding annexation of a portion of the Cathoiic Church
property along the west City Limits, the following motion was made by Mr. Como,
seconded by Dr. Thompson, and unanimously carried:
The Planning Commission, in carrying out tho overall general plan to
the extent that it is known at present, would leave the question of
annexation of the property as requested in the petition by the Church
of St. Anastasia to the City Council dated December EO, 195', in the
hands of the City Council with the recommendations that they give
proper consideration to questions of dedication and grading of streets,
particularly Lake Street, and any necessary provisions for public play-,
grounds or parks as well as utility easements and engineering planning
for utilities.
There being no other business, the meeting adjourned.
