HUTCHINSON PDINNI�IG DWUSSION
Minutes July 16, 1962
The regular meeting of the Hutchinson Planning Commission was
held on Monday, July 16, at 7:30 P.M. in the City Hall. All members
were present except Dr. Bretzke and Mr. Gruett. Mr. Duesterhoeft ap-
peared for Lynn township, and Oscar Glas for the school board.
The minutes of the June 18th met:�ting were read and approved with
one correction - change the word "jog" to "curve" in the fourth para-
graph from the bottom where there is mention of Bob Roberts' extension
of Larson St.
Dr. Thompson made a motion, seconded by Hoel, that the Planning
Commission recommend approval of Mr. Hawks' bill of $70.15 for advice
and services. Approved.
Dr. Thompson and Mr. Daesterhoeft reported briefly on the public
hearing of McDonald's petition to rezone for a trailer court.
Mr. Torgrimson asked for a statement of policy regarding future
inquiries for trailer court losations. Beyond the general areas of
"southeast" and "northeast" mentioned by Mr. Hawks, it was generally
felt that no locations should be pinpointed until specific requests
for rezoning or special permits are received.
The purchase of land for a future elementary shcool site was sug-
gested to Mr. Glas as a possible matter for discussion by the school
board.
Co-operation between city and school in planning for and main-
taining school -park areas was mentioned by Mr. Carlson.
Acquisition of park areas for the city in the northeast and south-
west sections of the city was Discussed. Mr. Torgrimson and Mr. Carlson,
with Mr. Lerberg of the Park board, will plan to attend a City Council
meeting to stress the urgency that is felt on this matter.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
