The regular meeting of the Hutchinson; r1anning Commission was held
on 1onday, March 18, at 7:30 P.M. in the City Hall. Absent: Dr. 3retzke,
Mr. Torgrimson announced that Dr. Bretzkels term eamires March 31
and that Dr. Pretzke will not accept re-acpointment. 411 members expressed
regret at the loss of Dr. Pretzke as one of the original charter mercers
who has made many valuable contributions to the Planning Commission, both
as a member and particularly during the years he served as chairman fr-nn
January, 1959, to March, 1962.
Members of the Planning Commission were asked to consider possible
candidates for appoin'.ntent to the Plamiing Commission, keening in mind
Erenuiae interest as a *gime qualification.
Representatives of the Wesleyan Methodist Church appeared in behalf
of their anplication for a building use permit. ','hey wish to use a house
at 135 - 4th Ave. SE as a place of worshir, and a dwelling for the Castor.
Parking anddistance from the adjoining lot were two questions raised.
Dr. Thompson made a motion that the Planning Commission recommend
a,,roval to the City Co' ncil of the building use permit of the Wesleyan
Methodist Church as an accommodation for temporary use. 1ruett seconded.
Approved.
Mr. Henry gills appeared to inquire ac>out a nenrit to move an old
house (301 x 321) to a lot at hth Ave. 14W and Water St.
The Planning Com -fission tabled the request pending further investi-
gation by the building inspector and inquiry into the iossibility of
transporting; the house.
Mr. Carlson re:Dorted that the minimum subdivision design standards
and procedures listed in Sections 6 - 9 of the Subdivision Ordinance, to-
gether with the engineer's report, should serve as a satisfactory check -
OW before preliminary approval of a pls.t by the Planting Commission.
Officers of the Planning Commission for 1963-1964 were elected as
follows:
Floyd Hoel was nominated for chairman by Chirles Carlson.
Dr. Thomnson seconded the nomination and moved that the nominations be
closed and that the secret?ry cast an unanimous ballot. for ?noel as chair-
man. Approved.
Charles Carlson was nominated for vice chairman by 'noel, seconded by
Truett, and T)r. Thompson moved the nominations be closed and the secretary
cast an unanimous ballot for Carlson as vice chairman. AnCroved.
gthne Stearns was nominated for secretary by Dr. Thompson. Carlson
seconded and moved the nominations be closed and the secretary cast an
unanimous ballot for E. Stearns as secretary. Approved.
