The regUar meeting of the Tiutchinson planning Commission
was held on Monday, May 2(), at 7:30 P.M. in the City Hall.
Dr. Thompson was absent.
The minutes of the meeting of April 15 were read and
approved.
APPOINTMENT - After discussion, Torgrimson moved that Dr. f,'urtis
Schafer be recommended to the City Council as an appointment to
the Planning, Commission. Stearns seconded. Approved.
LOWELL OTTO - The request of Lowell Otto to build a 22+ x 33'
garage on his property at 219 -5th Are. NE was discussed. The
Planning Commission cannot recommend approval of this request
to the City Council according to Zoning Ordinance 217, Section 4
paragraph F. on Non -Conforming Uses.
ARMnRY - The question of a location for a new Armory, which had
been referred to the planning Commission, was discussed. The
Planning Commission recommends consideration of the site at high
Street and Fourth Ave NE, presently owned by the Memorial Home
COuGuarcil, as fulfilling all s"cifications outlined by the National
Yo sites above the dam were considered possible.
BUDGET RF12UFsr - Torgrimson moved and Carlson seconded that the
Planning Commission request to the City Council that $250 for
Planning Commission expenses be again included in the city budget.
Approved.
TRAILERS - Carlson moved that the planning Commission recommend to
the City Council that the Chief of Police be requested to enforce
the application of trailer permits according to Trailer Ordinance
227. Gruett seconded. Approved.
PARKING - Carlson moved that the Planning Commission recd mnend to
the City Oounc:Ll that there be further extension of the cityVe
I-'rogram to i.Wrove sidewalks and increase diagonal parking facili-
ties, particularly along Franklin St. Torgrimson seconded. Ap-
proved.
RECREATION RE007-WENDATIoNs - There was a follow-up discussion of
ways of implementing and accomplishing the recommendations of the
Recreation board.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
