.August 15, 1966
The regular meeting of the Hutchinson Planning Commission was called to order
by Chairman Curt Schafer at 7:30 P.M., August 1.5, 1966, in the Council Chambers
of City Hall. Members present were Cordon Bublitz, Lloyd Torgrimson, Cal
Bonniwell, Clainton Tracy, Floyd Hoel, and Engineer Wilson. Members absent
were Dr. A. J. Thompson and Harry Hanson.
Minutes of the regular meeting of July 18, 1966, were approved upon motion.
VARIANCE NO. 582 - Request for variance in floor -area ratio and rear yard set
back for garage addition at 94 -5th Avenue NW. Motion was made by Gordon Butlitz,
seconded by Lloyd Torgrimson, that the Planning Commission recommends that this
application be denied, with the suggestion that Mr. Lueck submit another plan
for adding on to his present garage. Carried.
SPECIAL PERMIT NO. 597. Sign for Schramm Implement at 143 North Hassan.
Motion was made by Floyd Hoel, seconded by Clinton Tracy, that the Planning
Commission recommends to the City Council that this special permit be granted.
Carried.
REQUEST FOR VARIANCE NO. 591. Michael Van Overbeke - move and locate garage at
511 Adams St. S. Variance required in floor -area ratio. Motion was made by
Lloyd Torgrimson, seconded by Clinton Tracy, that the Planning Commission recommene
to the City Council that this request for variance be granted on the basis that
it conforms to the neighborhood. Carried.
SPECIAL PERMIT NO. 584. Sign for Citizens Bank at 102 Main South. Motion was
made by Gordon Bublitz, seconded by Floyd Hoel, that the Planning Commission
recommends to the City Council that this permit be granted. Carried.
FINAL PLAT RICE ADDITION. Motion was made by Lloyd Torgrimson, seconded by Clinton
Tracy, that the Planning Commission recommends to the City Council that this final
plat be approved, with specific attention drawn to drainage and the need for a
storm sewer in the near future; upon payment of donation of $910.00 for parks
and playgrounds; and with the recommendation that the street be named "Goebel
Street," or that the entire street be renamed, including that portion north of
Roberts Road and in Meriekel's Addition. Carried.
The Lynn Township Board requested an opinion from the Planning Commission concern-
ing a construction firm built without a building permit, and a trailer court
existing on the McDonald farm in Lynn Township. The Planning Commission will
obtain copy of the Lynn Township zoning ordinance and examine it for possible
action.
Discussion of Engineer's report of May 14th on Subdivision Ordinance No. 235 -
Payments for Improvements in New Subdivisions.
Discussion of parking area requirements for the front portion of Wally Crandall's
garage which has been sold and is to be used for auction sal .l
