11-17-1969 PCM cHUTCHINSON PLANNING COMMISSION November 17, 1969 The Regular Meeting of the Hutchinson Planning Commission was called to order by Chairman Clint Tracy in the Council Chambers at 7:30 P.M. Members Present: Dave Jensen, Les Linder, Clint Tracy, Torn Cone Also Present: Tom Mealey, Adm. Asst.; Engineer Priebe; Don Rye; Members Absent: Gordon Bublitz, Dr. Thompson, Arnold Heil The meeting was called to order at 7:30 P.M. by Chairman Tracy. Minutes of the October 20 meeting were read and approved. SIGN PERMITS #1131 - Gold Bond Stamp Company. It was noted that the Building Inspector had been on sick leave and had not yet approved the request. Therefore, the motion was made by Dave Jensen, seconded by Tom Cone, to approve the request subject to approval of the Building Inspector upon his return. Motion passed. 1113 - Stillings Sign C3mpany. Les Linder made a motion to approve, seconded by Dave Jensen and passed contingent upon approval by Building Inspector. 1136 - Meyers Appliance. Motion to approve by Torn Cone, seconded by Les Linder and passed contingent upon approval by Building Inspector. REPLACEMENT FOR MRS. NED STEARNS Mrs. Dennis Deanovic was proposed as replacement for Mrs. Ned Stearns as Secretary of the Planning -.Commission. Tom Cone made a motion to approve Mrs. Deanovic's appointment to fill Mrs. Stearns' unexpired term. Les Linder secondedthe motion and it was carried unanimously. HEARING ON PUBLICATION NO. 1224 - Prezoning McDonald Annexation Chairman Tracy called for hearing on Publication No. 1224 - zoning of proposed annexation to the City of Hutchinson at 7:45 P.M. Mr. and Mrs. Earl McDonald were present for the hearing. No other persons were present and no objections were voiced. Motion was made by Les Linder, seconded by Tom Cone, that the Planning Commission recommend to the City Council that property to be annexed to the City as petitioned be prezoned 11R-111, Single and two-family Residential District and 11R-2" Multiple Family Residential District, as petitioned by Loretta and Earl McDonald. Motion carried. Hutchinson Planning Commission November 179 1969 Tom Mealey notified the Commission that the City Council and the Acoma Town Board had adopted resolutions to annex certain portions of Acoma Township which would include Shady Ridge, in accordance with orderly annexation procedures. Dave Jensen made a motion to approve the actions of the City Council and, the Acoma Town Board. Motion seconded by Les Linder and carried. Tom Mealey introduced members of the Housing and Redevelopment Administration: Mr. J. Harold Beytein, Miss Hazel Baseman, Mr. Don Flynn and Mrs. Gertrude Bush. Chairman tracy invited them to join the Commission at the table for the ensuing presentation. Chairman Tracy introduced Don Rye from Midwest Planning and Research and turned the meeting over to him. Don Rye distributed maps, copies of the Housing and Population survey and graphics of physical studies reports including generalized land use map. He reviewed the Housing Survey with the, members of the Planning Commission and the HRA. Workable Programs were distributed. Tom Mealey explained that this is a first draft which must be worked over thoroughly before we can receive federal assistance. It must be approved by the Council when put into final form. Les Linder made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Tom Cone. The meeting was adjourned at 9:25 P.M. Clinton Tracy, Acting Secretary
