06-22-1971 PCM cSPECIAL MEMTING OF THE HUTCHINSON PLANNING COMMISSION JUNE 22, 1971
The meeting was called to order at 8:30 A.M. by Chairman Linder. Members
present were Tom Cone, Marshall Tudor, Dave Jensen and Les Linder.
The minutes of the meeting of May 17, 1971 were approved on motion by Dave
Jensen, sec cad by Tom Cone.
A request for variance submitted by Gayle Wick was considered. Mr. Wick has
asked to extend his garage to within three feet of the property line in
violation of the provisions of Ordinance 245. He has submitted a letter from
the adjoining property owner stating they have no objection to this construction.
Having viewed the property and discussed the possibility of change of ownership
of property the concensus was that in view of these considerations it would not
be wise to permit the variance. The Building Official has not recommended granting
the request. Tom Cone moved, Marsh Tudor seconded the motion, that the Planning
Commission recommend that the variance not be granted, but that a building permit
be issued in conformance with the provisions of the ordinance.
Roy Madson's request for permission to construct storage garages on Lot 8, Block
1, Waller's Addition in the Northeast section of the City, and the Building
Official's recommendations were considered. It was determined that the set -back
requirements of the R-1 zoning should be observed; that the outer and inner
wall sheathing for each stall shall be of one hour fire rated materials; and that
the owner shall give the City a letter stating that no part of the buildings or
premises shall be used for mechanical repair work or storage of combustible or
explosive materials. Marsh Tudor moved that the recommendation be forwarded to
the City Council, Dave Jensen seconded the motion and it was carried.
There being no further business before the Commission at this time, the meeting
was declared adjourned at 9:00 A.M.
