04-21-2014 POLMHutchinson Police Commission Minutes The Hutchinson Police Commission held a meeting on Monday April 21, 2014 at the Hutchinson Police Station. Present at the meeting were Chairperson Curtis Hughes, Commissioner Verne Meyer, Commissioner Julie Jensen, and Chief Daniel Hatten. Call the Meeting to Order: The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Hughes at 4:30 p.m. Approval of Agenda: Chairperson Hughes asked if there were any changes to the agenda. A motion was made by Commissioner Jensen to accept the agenda as written, seconded by Commissioner Meyer. The motion carried unanimously. Approval of Minutes: Chairperson Hughes asked the Commission to approve the minutes from the March meeting with one amendment. Motion was made by Commissioner Meyer, seconded by Commissioner Jensen, to approve the meeting minutes. Motion carried unanimously. Staffing Issues: Chief Hatten informed the Commission the three candidates have cleared all aspects of the background investigation and have received formal offers of employment to fill vacant Hospital Security positions. Chief Hatten informed the Commission that the background investigation is currently underway on the Communication Specialist candidate. Chief Hatten informed the Commission the hiring process to fill the vacant Police Officer position has begun. Chief Hatten provided the Commission with an updated department roster including Hospital Security personnel as requested by the Commission at the March meeting. Union Update: Chief Hatten informed the Commission the City Council would be reviewing and voting on the labor agreement with the Minnesota Public Employees Association at the April 22, 2014 meeting. Items from the Floor: There were no items from the floor. With there being no further business to discuss, a motion was made by Commissioner Jensen, seconded by Commissioner Meyer, to adjourn the meeting. The motion carried unanimously.
