02-14-2013 PACMHutchinson Public Arts Commission Meeting minutes February 14, 2013 Present: Dolf Moon, Lena Mowlem, Joshua Schroeder, Mary Christensen, Dan Jochum, Audrey Hollatz, Terry Kempfert, Buzz Burich Call for Artists report for art walk: Lena Mowlem After discussion with Jack at Forecast Public Art, Mowlem contacted John Hock at Franconia. It was recommended the show be curated, and the curator pick out the pieces. John Hock is an in demand curator for sculpture shows, and said artists would need $1500 plus expenses, with approximately $4000 paid to the curator. It was decided Mowlem will talk with Deb Zeller and Scott Wallace to see if we can get artists to place pieces without having the show curated by a professional curator. The first show will most likely be represented by local and Minnesota artists. Schroeder presented two bids for brochures, one from Vivid Image and one from 8bitstudio design. 8bit studio will design, lay out photos and map,. Vivid Image will publish and print what we give them. 8bit studio will provide more design help. Motion made by Mowlem, second by Hollatz to approve the bid from 813it Studio for production of the Hutchinson Art brochure. Total cost is $1200. With Joshua Schroeder abstaining, motion passes. 8bitstudio will email the concept to board members, schedule meeting with M. Schroeder for final approval. Moon spoke with Hutchinson Ambassadors regarding funding of the art brochure, request was denied.
