April 24, 1995
All Commissioners were present; also present were Mgr. Kadrmas
and Counsel Prochnow.
President Cornell called the meeting to order at 1:00 p.m.
The minutes of March 27, 1995, regular meeting were reviewed.
A motion was made by Commissioner Gilmer, seconded by
Commissioner Beatty to approve the minutes as written. Motion
was unanimously carried.
The March payables were discussed. A motion was made by
Commissioner Beatty, seconded by Commissioner Ward to accept
the March payables in the amount of $2,315,994.81 (detailed
listing in payables book). Motion was unanimously carried.
The 1995 year -to -date (thru March) financial and budget
reports were reviewed. A motion was made by Commissioner
Beatty, seconded by Commissioner Gilmer to accept the
financial and budget reports. Motion was unanimously carried.
Hutchinson Jaycee's requested a water carnival contribution
for advertising. After discussion, a motion was made by
Commissioner Beatty, seconded by Commissioner Carls to
contribute to water carnival advertising the amount of $400.
Motion was unanimously carried.
Manager's Report:
1. Reviewed clothing allowance change for employee policy
handbook. After discussion, a motion was made by
Commissioner Beatty, seconded by Commissioner Gilmer to
approve the clothing allowance policy change to include
flame resistant clothing for job classifications required
to wear flame resistant clothing. Motion was unanimously
carried.
2. Presented a five year service contract for absorption
chillers from Carrier. The monthly charge is $1,523.
After discussion a motion was made by Commissioner
Beatty, seconded by Commissioner Carls to accept the
service contract from Carrier. Motion was unanimously
carried.
3. The May regular meeting will be held on May 30 at 1:00
p.m. The June regular meeting will be held on June 30 at
1:00 P.M.
4. Presented requisition for 10 37.5 KVA single phase
transformers. A motion was made by Commissioner Beatty,
seconded by Commissioner Gilmer to approve requisition to
/�'
Petersen - Wisdorf for 10 37.5 KVA single phase transformers in the
amount of $10,800. Motion was unanimously carried.
Old Business:
Commissioner Ward asked about the status of the new motel. Mgr.
Kadrmas stated that the transformer is in stock and lines will be
installed when the ground dries out.
New Business:
Northern States Power Company was contracted to perform the testing
and maintenance of Hutchinson Utilities relays. While performing
the tests and maintenance at the 3M substation, the power went down
for about two minutes. 3M was down for 24 hours.
There being no further business, a motion was made by Commissioner
Beatty, seconded by Commissioner Ward to adjourn the meeting at
2:25 p.m. Motion was unanimously carried.
