Regular Meeting
November 27, 1989
All Commis loners were present; also present were Mgr. Kadrmas
and Counsel Prochnow.
President paggett called the meeting to order at 1:00 p.m.
The minutes of October 30, 1989 regular meeting were reviewed.
A motion was made by Commissioner Cornell, seconded by Commissioner
Lyke to accept the minutes as written (omitting paragraph 4 -
At this time Commissioner Lyke arrived.) Motion was unanimously
carried.
The October payables for both entities were reviewed. A motion
was made by Commissioner Richards, seconded by Commissioner
Beatty to accept the electric payables in the amount of $977,428.92
and gas payables in the amount of $319,804.82 (detailed listing
in payables book). Motion was unanimously carried.
Jerry Larson and Rick Free from Northern States Power Company
were welco ed to the meeting. They presented possible options
for Hutchinson Utilities- Northern States Power to consider.
Mgr. Kadrmas presented his recommendation on bids (bid tabulation
attached) for 115 KV transmission line materials. After discussion,
a motion was made by Commissioner Cornell, seconded by Commissioner
Beatty to award the bid for 115 KV transmission line materials
to Hamby -Young in the amount of $63,220.62. Motion was unanimously
carried.
Mgr. Kadrmas presented quote for boiler and machinery insurance
coverage for 1990. After discussion, a motion was made by
Commissioner Beatty, seconded by Commissioner Lyke to award the
quote (quote attached) to National Security Insurance Underwriters
in the amount of $36,314. Motion was unanimously carried.

Manager's Report:
1. Regarding the Integrated Transmission Agreement, received
proposed bill of sale for property (transformer, circuit
breakers and transmission line) from United Power Association.
After discussion, a motion was made by Commissioner Beatty,
seconded by Commissioner Lyke authorizing Commissioners
Daggett and Cornell to sign agreement after the agreement
is approved by Counsel Prochnow and Mgr. Kadrmas. Motion
was unanimously carried.
2. Reminded the Commissioners the Christmas party (thru employees
fund) is December 8, 1989.
3. Chamber ambassadors will meet at the Utilities Center on
November 28 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. for a Hutchinson
after business hours open house.
4. Discussed gas task force. After discussion, a motion was
made by Commissioner Beatty, seconded by Commissioner
Cornell to remain a member in the MMUA gas task force.
Motion was unanimously carried.
5. Commissioners Daggett and Cornell signed Northern Natural
Gas firm transportation contracts.
Old Business; None
New Business:
President Daggett appointed Commissioners Cornell and Lyke to
meet with Mgr. Kadrmas to review Mgr. Kadrmas employment contract.
His present employment contract expires December 26, 1989.
The December regular meeting will be held on December 18 at
1:00 p.m. The January regular meeting will be held on January 22
at 1:00 p.m.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 3:40 p.m.
