September 22, 1986
All Commissioners were present, also present were Mgr. Alexander,
Counsel Peterson, G. Barry Anderson, counsel for Rufus Alexander,
Jane Hodgins, Hutchinson Leader staff writer, Mayor Paul L.
Ackland and Ruth Hakel.
President Daggett called the meeting to order at 7:00 a.m.
Counsel Peterson explained the open meeting law.
Counsel Anderson stated that the current situation between the
manager and Commission would be resolved by the close of
meeting; however, he wished to address a concern of his client.
It being that additional compensation be allowed over and above
a previous retirement pay offer by between seven to nine months.
His closing comment expressed appreciation from himself and
Mgr. Alexander for the good faith approach taken by the
Commission.
At 7:15 a.m. a closed session conrnenced. PresideiiL Dayyet-L
called the special meeting back to order at 7:45 a.m.
Counsel Peterson stated that an agreement had been met in
principal and that it would be finalized with a written agreement.
After discussion, a motion was raade by Cuiunissioner Beatty,
seconded by Commissioner Lyke to appoint Ruth Hakel interim
manager. Motion was unanimously carried.
There being no further business, a motion was made by Commissioner
Lyke, seconded by Commissioner Beatty to adjourn the meeting at
7:50 a.m.
