Regular Meeting
June 30, 1983
Commissioner Daggett and Commissioner Lyke were present; also
present were Mgr. Alexander and Ruth Hakel.
Vice President Daggett called the meeting to order at 1:00 p.m.
The May 31, 1983 minutes were considered. A motion was made by
Commissioner Lyke, seconded by Commissioner Daggett to accept
the minutes as presented. Motion was unanimously carried.
The next order of business was to review the May electric and
gas payables. A motion was made by Commissioner Lyke, seconded
by Commissioner Daggett to accept the May payables. Motion was
unanimously carried.
Ruth Hakel presented the financial statements. Management was
directed to make the next quarterly contribution to the City of
Hutchinson from the electric division. After discussion, a
motion was made by Commissioner Lyke, seconded by Commissioner
Daggett to accept both reports. Motion was unanimously carried.
Old Business:
1. Mgr. Alexander reported that the LeRoy Christensen trial,
previously set for July 21, 1983, will be changed to a
future date. (Date not known at this time.)
2. It was learned from Lawrence Hofmann the Curtiss - Wright trial
would be held before Judge Magnusen - perhaps, August or
September.
New Business:
The Eleventh Annual Midwest Gas Association Summit Conference
will be held August 14 -16, 1983 on Mackinac Island, Michigan.
A motion was made by Commissioner Lyke, seconded by Commissioner
Daggett authorizing any member of the Commission, and the general
manager, to attend the conference. Motion was unanimously carried.

Notice is hereby given that the Hutchin-
son Utilities Commission of the City, of
Hutchinson, Hutchinson, Minnesota,
hereinafter referred` to as Owner, will
receive sealed bids at the Hutchinson
Utilities ° Commission Office ° until 1:00
o'clock p.m. on the 1 st; day of August,
1983, and =will publicly open and read
aloud such bids on the following improve-
ment (s).
Construction of a 69KV switchyard and
construction of one.mile of double circuit
69KV transmission line. Construction of a
control house and installation of breaker
control panels.
Proposals shall be properly endorsed
and delivered in an envelope' marked,
BIDS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A
69KV SWITCHYARD, CONTROL
HOUSE AND ASSOCIATED
TRANSMISSION - LINE FOR ' THE
MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC UTILITIES OF
HUTCHINSON, MINNESOTA and shall be
addressed to: Hutchinson Utilities Com-
mission, 225 Michigan Street, Hutchin-
son, MN 55350.
All proposals shall be submitted in
triplicate on the bidder's own letterhead in
facsimile of the proposal form enclosed in
the specifications, or by utilizing the pro-
posal form enclosed with the - specifica-
tions by typing the official name of the
bidder at the top of the form.
Each proposal shall be accompanied by
a bid bond made payable to the Hutchin-
son Utilities Commission in the amount of
five per cent (5 %) of the bid, as a
guarantee that the bidder will enter into
the proposed contract and provide a Per -
formance and Maintenance Bond after his
bid shall have been accepted.
No bidder may withdraw his bid or pro -
posal for a period of thirty (30) days after
date of opening of bids.
At. the aforementioned time and place,
or at such later time and place as the
Owner them may fix, . the-Owner will act
upon proposals received and :within its
sole, discretion may award contract (s) for*
the furnishing /construction of said Im-
provement (s).
Payment for said improvements will be
made in cash or be derived from available
cash on hand and /or from the proceeds
of the sale of revenue bonds, which said
bonds will be-payable solely and only out
of the future net earnings of the municipal
electric utility of said City.
The City shall not incur any general
obligation for said ` improvements, and
neither the contract -for said im-
provements nor said revenue bonds shall
constitute a general obligation of said City
or be payable in any manner by taxation,
and under no circumstances shall the City
be in any manner liable by reason of the
failure of said net earnings to be sufficient
for the payment thereof.
The successful bidder will be required
to furnish a bond in an amount equal to
100% of the contract price; said bond to
be issued by a responsible surety approv-
ed by the Owner, and shall guarantee the
faithful performance of the "contract ;and
the terms and conditions therein contain-
ed, and save harmless , to -Owner from
claims and damages of any kind, caused
by the operation of, the contractor 'and -
shall also guarantee the maintenance of
the improvement for a period of one year
from and after final acceptance by the
Owner.
Work shall: be started within ten ' {10)
days after award of contract (s) and shall
be completed' within the time stated in the
specifications /contractor's proposal.
Specifications and plans are on file at
the Office of the Manager, Hutchinson
Utilities, and Associated 'Consultants,
Inc., 3131 Fernbrook Lane North, Min-
neapolis, Minnesota 55441, where they
are available for examination- Copies
thereof may be obtained from Associated
Consultants, Inc., upon receipt of twenty -
five dollars ($25.00) per 'set to cover
handling and mailing /shipping charges.

printer of the newspaper known as The Hutchinson Leader and has hdi knowledge of the facts herein stated as follows

Notice to Contractors
Notice is hereby given that the Hutchin-
son Utilities Commission of the City of
Hutchinson, Hutchinson, Minnesota,
hereinafter referred to as the Owner, will
receive sealed bids at the 'Hutchinson
Utilities office until 1:00 p.m. on the 25
day of July, 1983, and will publicly open
and read aloud such bids for the replace -
ment of approximately 108 squares of
built up roofing and including installation
of -a new roof drainage system and addi-
tional roof Insulation,
At the aforementioned time and place,
or at such` later time and place as the
Owner then may fix, the Owner' will act
upon proposals received and within its
sole discretion may award contract (s) for
the construction of said improvement (s).
Proposals shall be properly endorsed

duplicate on the bidder's own letterhead
