January 26, 1979
All Commissioners were present, also Mgr. Alexander.
The meeting was called to order at 9:30 a.m. by President
Quade.
Mgr. Alexander gave a full report on anticipated costs and
time elements in the repairing, rebuilding and upgrading
the switchgear equipment and building. The Harold K.
Scholz Company out of Omaha, Nebraska, is offering
consultation in this matter.
After discussion, a motion was made by Commissioner Filk,
seconded by Commissioner Tracy that in the emergency that
exists, we should engage the Harold Scholz Company to
furnish labor and material as needed to replace the
switchgear and associated items. The motion carried
unanimously.
Discussion was held concerning a flood control berm to
protect switchgear building, transformers and the main
building. Mgr. Alexander was instructed to proceed
with the plan.
Dave Schmidt of Associated Consultants appeared and discussed
the electrical problems in general. He stated that a letter
was forthcoming spelling out the details.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at
10:30 a.m.
