Regular Meeting
October 16, 1978
All Commissioners were present, also Mgr. Alexander and Ruth
&akel.
The meeting was called to order at 2:00 p.m. by President
"ade.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting.of September 11, 197E were
read and approved as read.
The :election of officers was discussed. A motion was made by
Commissioner Filk, seconded by Commissioner Tracy that all
officers be elected to their present positions. The motion
carried.
Mgr. Alexander reported on a letter from Curtiss- Wright
concerning extended warranty. Mgr. Alexander was directed
to answer the letter stating the Commission's desire to have
the warranty extended for 12 months beyond the expiration
of the present warranty.
Mgr. Alexander requested permission to draw up specs and
advertise for bids on group insurance for the Utilities.
After discussion a motion was made by Commissioner Filk,
seconded by Commissioner Tracy to call for bids. The
motion carried.
Mgr. Alexander reported on the tampering of electric meters,
numbering 85 to date. The police are investigating. The
Commission instructed Mgr. Alexander to follow up on the
problem.
Mgr. Alexander reported that buckets for unit #8 from Pow -Mat
Limited in New York can be obtained for $76,466.00.
A motion was made by Commissioner Tracy, seconded by Commissioner
Filk that the Utilities call for bids by the December meeting
for a 50 and 60 KVI transformer of which only one would be
considered. The motion carried.
The proposed storage building was discussed. A motion was made
by Commissioner Tracy, seconded by Commissioner Filk to call for
bids on a building of approximately 8000 square feet. The motion
carried.
Mgr. Alexander reported on #7 generator. The unit should be in
use by November 1. Unit #8 will be worked on as soon as #7 and
#4 are back in operation.

A notion was made by Commissioner Filk, seconded by Commissioner
Tracy to pay Gas Supply Inc. in the amount of $45,571.98 as per
estimate #1. The notion carried.
Mgr. Alexander reported on the LeRoy Christensen account. All
appliances were checked - nothing showed excessive consumption.
After discussion, the Commission instructed Mgr. Alexander to
inform the Christensen that no further action will be taken
by the Utilities.
A motion was made by Commissioner Tracy, seconded by Commissioner
Filk to allow 6'brtain authorized personnel from the Utilities to
attend the Minnesota Municipal utilities Association Fall Meeting
to be held in Minneapolis on October 18, 19 h 20. The motion
carried.
The Regular November meeting will be held on November 15, 1978.
