All Commissioners were present, also Mgr. Alexander, Ruth
Hakel, and Howard Madsen and Dennis Potter of Madsen
Insurance Agency.

The meeting was called to order at 2:00 p.m. by President
Quade.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of July 11, 1977, were
read and approved as read.
The minutes of the Special Meeting of August 5, 1977, were
read and approved as read.
Dennis Potter of Madsen Agency presented figures on insurance
liability coverage for the Gas Division. After discussion,
a motion was made by Commissioner Filk, seconded by Commissioner
Tracy and carried to increase our Gas Division liability
insurance from $300,000.00 to $1,000,000.00 for an additional
premium cost of $8,571.00.
Mgr. Alexander reported on the need for purchasing 6 new
transition pieces for the G.E. turbine. The Commission approved.
Tentative date for an Open House was set for September 14, 1977.
A study by Associated Consultants of the gas rates was
presented by Mgr. Alexander. No action was taken.
A motion was made by Commissioner Filk, seconded by Commissioner
Tracy to pay Associated Consultants in the amount of $13,853.69
for services rendered. The motion was carried.
After discussion on the statement presented by Oppenheimer et al,
Mgr. Alexander was instructed to contact Robert Weinstine
concerning settlement.
Discussion was held relative to the Hutchinson Utilities
contribution to the City of Hutchinson. A motion was made
by Commissioner Filk, seconded by Commissioner Tracy and
carried to continue with $50,000.00 per quarter. Mgr. Alexander
was instructed to inform the City Administrative Assistant of
the action.
Mgr. Alexander presented a report on the Utility Davis trencher.
He was instructed to get bids on a trade.

Mgr. Alexander discussed having had contact with 3M on their
need for peaking propane gas. No action was taken.
