06-06-1977 HUCM126 Regular Meeting June 6, 1977 All Commissioners were present, also Mgr. Alexander, Ruth Hakel, Dave Schmidt of Associated Consultants, and Brian Buchmayer of School District #423. The meeting was called to order at 2:00 p.m. by President Quade. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of May 9, 1977, were read and accepted as read. The minutes of the Special Meeting of May 18, 1977, were read and accepted as read. The minutes of the Special Meeting of May 24, 1977, were read and accepted as read. Brian Buchmayer of Independent School District #423 appeared and explained a purchase agreement proposed for the property known as the Utilities Garage. After discussion, it was decided to accept the offer with this difference, that the amount remain at $100,000.00 with 1/3 down and two equal payments in the neat two years. An alternate proposal would be $105,000.00 over a period of three years, with a down payment and three payments. A motion was made by Commissioner Tracy, seconded by Commissioner Filk and carried to present the Independent School District #423 with the suggested proposals. Mgr. Alexander was instructed to contact Brian Buchmayer with the proposals. Dave Schmidt of Associated Consultants appeared with information on demand rate and its application. It was pointed out that the wording "available" as used with our rates should read "applicable ". In other areas the term "kilowatts" should be changed to "kilovolts ". No action was taken. The matter of establishing a rural rate was discussed at length. Dave Schmidt was instructed to recommend a rate based on a review of R.E.A. rates as well as local factors. Mgr. Alexander presented bills and action was taken as follows: A motion was made by Commissioner Filk, seconded by Commissioner Tracy and carried that we allow Dammann's Construction Company Est. #7 (Final) in the amount of $4,458.27. A motion was made by Commissioner Tracy, seconded by Commissioner Filk and carried that we allow Paul Lemke & Son Est. #9 in the amount of $8,892.00. ?27 A motion was mdde by Commissioner Filk, seconded.by Commissioner Tracy and carried that we allow Peterson & Gilmer in the amount of 571.38. A motion was made by Commissioner Filk, seconded by Commissioner Tracy and carried that we allow Associated Consultants, Inc. in the amount of $17,136.51. Mgr. Alexander reported briefly on the following: cooling tower progress - oil consumption cured in the Curtiss - Wright turbine - oil leak in the oil tank - upcoming meeting with Mr. Henderson concerning the Worthington case - report on data processing. No action was taken. After discussion concerning the vibration in the Curtiss- Wright unit, a motion was made by Commissioner Tracy, seconded by Commissioner Filk that Associated Consultants should resolve the vibration problem or obtain a one year additional warranty in the vibration area. iy After discussion on repairing generator #2, a motion was made by Commissioner Filk, seconded by Commissioner Tracy to have Q.E. repair the unit at a cost of $10,151.00.
