Monthly Meeting.
The regular monthly meeting of the Light & Power Commission
was held at R. I. Sheppardts office on October 11, 1950 at 7 :30 p.m.
All Commissioners were present; also Supt Young.
The minutes of the last monthly meeting were read and approved
as read.
Due to the fact that the Council did not appoint a Commissioner
until October 9, the regular meeting of October was postponed until
October 11, 1950.
R. W. Dahl having been re- appointed by the City Council
of the City of Hutchinson, as a member of the Light & Power Commission
for ,a six year term and having subscribed to the required oath, the
Commission proceeded with the election of officers for the coming
year-.
Motion was made by Commissioner Thompson and seconded by
Commissioner Dahl that all officers who served for the past year be
re- elected. Motion carried unanimously, whereupon President Sheppard
declared the following to be the officers of the Light & Power
Commission for the coming year.

The motion was made by Commissioner Dahl and seconded by
Commissioner Thompson that the Commission call for bids on a new
one -half ton pick -up truck, chassis and cab only, with four speed
transmission. Bids to be opened at eight o'clock on Wednesday,
October 25, 1950, at the Light Plant Billing Office.
The motion was made by Commissioner Thompson and seconded
by Gommissioner Dahl tp pay $25.00 towards the cost of any under-
ground service that is installed -by a customer.
The motion was made by Commissioner Dahl and seconded by
Commissioner Thompson to purchase a new surge tank to replace the
old surge tank at the plant.

The motion was made by Commissioner Thompson and seconded
by Commissioner Dahl. t o issue a check in the amount of $7.50 in
payment of the entry fee for the Light Plant Bowling Team.
The motion was made by Commissioner Dahl and seconded
by Commissioner Thompson to give a purchase order to the Kalo Brick
& Tile Company, Fort D6dge, Iowa, for one kiln of brick that will
match the light plant building brick. This order to be d elivered
at their convenience.
The motion was made by Commissioner Dahl and seconded by
Commissioner Thompson to issue a check each month to the Culligan
Soft Water Service for soft water service.
The motion was made by Commissioner Thompson and seconded
by Commissioner Dahl to increase the monthly salary of R. E. Young
from $415.00 to $450.00 and also to increase the monthly salary
of Ruth Betker from $175.00 to 185.00, both increases to become
effective as of October 1, 1950.
The motion was made by Commissioner Thompson and seconded
by Commissioner Dahl that Supt Young and Commissioner Dahl locate
an old building suitable for storage of supplies that are now out
of doors,and have the building moved on our lot for temporary use.

RESOLUTION
R. W. Dahl moved the adoption of the following resolution:
"Whereas the Light and Power Commission of the City of
Hutchinson issued a series of Pledge Orders in the total
amount of $200,000.00 dated June 1, 1945 and known as
Pledge Order of 1945 to Busch - Sulzer Bros. Diesel Engine
Company, to evidence and provide for payment of the purchase
price of machinery from said Busch- Sulzer Bros. - Diesel Engine
Company, and
Whereas it was provided that as to Pledge Orders numbered 126
to 200 inclusive the Commission reserved the right on or
after January 1, 1950 to anticipate payments due on June 1,
1950 and December 1, 1950, by giving notice thirty days in
advance to the last known holders, and
Whereas the Commission has considered the anticipation of
payment of Pledge Orders numbered 126 to 200 inclusive in
the amount of $75,000.00,
BE IT RESOLVED: That the Commission does exercise its right
to anticipate payment of Pledge Orders numbered 126 to 200
inclusive in the total principal amount of $75,000.00, and
does hereby call for payment said Pledge Orders in the
amount of $75,000.00, with interest to January 1, 1950, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the Secretary of the Commission
issue Notice of Call for payment of Pledge Orders numbered
126 and 200 inclusive, and mail said Notice of Call registered
mail to Busch- Sulzer Bros. Diesel Engine Company, St. Louis,
Missouri., and to Central National Bank and Trust Company,
312 -316 Fifth Avenue, Des Moines, 4, Iowa, the last known
holder of said Pledge Orders. "
Member A. J. Thompson seconded the adoption of the foregoing
resolution, and upon vote taken all Commissioners voted in
favor and no one voted against and the resolution was declared
unanimously adopted.

Special Meeting.
A special meeting of the Light & Power Commission was'held at the Light
Plant Billing Office on October 25, 1950, at eight o'clock, Wednesday evening.
R. I. Sheppard and R. W. Dahl, Commissioners, R. E. Young, Supt. and
W. E. Reyerson, attorney, were present.
Bids were opened for a one -half ton pick -up truck. Following are the
bids submitted. Representatives from each dealer were present.

ton pick -up truck. It was agreed that the old International truck would be
traded in on the pick -up.
