04-22-1950 HUCMK SPECIAL MEETING OF THE LIGHT AND POWER COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF HUTCHINSON HELD AT THE OFFICE OF DR. R. I. SHEPPARD ON APRIL 22, 1950 AT 7:45 P. M. A special meeting of the Light and Power `'ommission of the City of Hutchinson was called for April 22, 1950 at 7:45 P. M. at the office of Dr. R. I. Sheppard. All members of the Commission were present and participated in the meeting. Also present were Ralph Young, Supt., Mr. Leon Winter, consulting engineer, and attorneys Elmer C. Jensen and W. E. Reyerson. A full discussion was made regarding the making of a contract with McLeod Cooperative Power Association, and the matter of the rate schedule was fully considered. Mr. Leon Winter expressed his views as to the desirability of entering into a five year contract with REA, giving his reasons from his knowledge of certain developments which could affect the local Light and Power Commission. After the matter had been fully discussed, Member A. J. Thompson offered the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLVED: That the Light and Power Commission of the City of Hutchinson enter into a five year contract, from and after September 2, 1950) with 14cLeod Cooperative Power Association, to furnish electric energy in the area outlined in the proposed contract based on the production facilities of the local plant of 6570 KW with a maximum demand by REA of 2200 KW, the details of a contract to be agreed upon between the parties, subject to approval of the Rural Electrification Administration, Washington, D. C., and which contract would be based on the following rate: Demand Charge: $1.25 per Killowatt of "Billing Demand" per month. Energy Charge: $.0076 per Killowatt -Hour. Rate adjustment based on One -half of the present fuel clause. Member R. W. Dahl seconded the motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution, and upon vote being taken all members voted in favor of the resolution and no one voted against the resolution, and the resolution was declared unanimously adopted. There being no further business the meeting adjourned. 118 ( 106 ) Motion was made by Commissioner Dahl that the lowest bidder, for amount of the bid beir_ Commissioner Thompson and seconded by we award a contract to Layne- Minnesota Co., installation of a deep well pump, the g $2,358.00. Motion was made and seconded that we return the certified checks to the other bidders at once. There being no further business the meeting adjourned. R. W. All commissioners were present, as well. as Supt. YRung;. Mr. F. B. Fink, of the F Ac E Check Protector Company, offered to sell to the Commission a rebuilt check protector for $95.00. He would allow $30.00 on the old machine. It was unanimously voted to issue a voucl-_er in the amount of $65.00 in full payment for the rebuilt check protector. Motion was made and seconded to send the following, Notice to all automobile dealers in Hutchinson: NOTICE Sealed bids will be received by the Light and Power Commission of the City of Hutchinson, IxLeod County, Yinnesota, on Wednesday, May 10, 1950, at 7;45 o'clock p.m., at the billinE.; � office of said LiEbt and Power Commission in the Laatsch Building in the City of Hutchinson, Minnesota, for the purchase of a new tudor coach automobile. The Li,,-ht and Power Commission has a 1939 Plymouth Coach to be traded in on the nelw car. The new car is to be equippea with air conditioned heater, directional signal lig)�its, radio, color of car to 'ne yellow, althouC -h, alternate bids will be accepted on a stock color. Delivery date must be specified. Bids shall be accornpanied by certified check in the sum of, at least, 10% of the bid. The right to reject any and all bids is reserved to the Commission.
