Special Meeting
October 19, 1949.
A special meeting of the Light & Power Commission was held
on October 19, 1949, at 7;30 p.m. at R. I. Sheppard1s office.
All commissioners were present, also Supt. Young and G. B.
Frederickson, well drilling contractor.
G. B. Frederickson had compl6ted the test well to
had found water bearing sand starting at 284t, and the same
continued to the 4001 level. The Commission voted to have
drawn and sent to three or four well companies for bids for
of a 12" well with a 701 screen. Bids to be opened October

Special Meeting
October 26, 1949.
A special meeting between the City Council, the Light &
Power Commission, Supt. Young, Elmer Jensen and Wallace Reyerson,
attorneys and Lewis Merrill, City Engineer was held at the light
plant office at 7;30 p.m. on October 26, 1949, to open bids on the
water well.
Bids were received from four companies. Each company had
a personal representative present with the bid. The companies were:
1• McCarthy Well Comnany, bid was $8,950.00; a certified
check of $750.00 accompanied the bid.
2. Bergerson- Caswell, Inc., bid was $9,000.00; a certified
check of $600.00 accompanied the bid.
3• Layne- Minnesota Co., bid was $10,309.00 for Genuine
Wrought Iron Pipe, $7,895.00 for steel pipe; a $600.00
certified check accompanied their bid.
4. G. B. Frederickson, bid was $10,382.21 for Genuine
Wrought Iron Pipe, $$9,207.31 for steel pipe; a certified
check accompanied his bid. (550.00)
After considerable discussion, no action_ was taken and the
meeting adjourned to October 27, 1949.
