Special Meeting
April 22, 1971
A special meeting of the Hutchinson Utilities Commission was
held on April 22, 1971 at two o'clock P. M. at the Commission's
meeting room.
All Commissioners were present; also Steve Wacker.
Motion was made by Commissioner Tracy, seconded by Commissioner
Filk and unanimously carried to make the final payment of
$14,250.00 on Frederickson's, Inc. contract.
Motion was made by C owimis s ioner Filk, seconded by Commissioner
Tracy and unanimously carried to accept Chet Maki's proposal
to sandblast the 300,000 gallon fuel tank and coffer -dam for
$1,850.00. Sandblasting not to start until after June 1, 1971.
The following resolution was made by Commissioner Tracy, seconded
by Commissioner Filk and unanimously carried:
Resolution
Whereas, the old well in the pump house South of the Railroad
Tracks can not be used at the present time because of pumping
sand and gravel; and I
Whereas, the new well in the addition to the plant has been
test roan and f ound to meet specifications, and
Whereas, in the event the one well serving the plant failed for
any reason it would be necessary to shut down four engines,
Now, the Commission finds that an emergency exists requiring
the immediate purchase of a pump for the new well to put the
same into temporary service even before the addition to the
building is completed.

Be it Resolved: That the Commission accepts the offer of
Frederickson's Inc . to furnish and install a pump, which will
meet the requirements of the Commission for the new well, the
Commission having determined that the price stated in the offer was
competitive, and that upon delivery and installation, and testing
the price of 9,450.00 be paid.
There being no further business, motion was made., seconded and
unanimously carried to adjourn the meeting.
