August 13, 1973
A regular meeting of the Hutchinson Utilities Commission was
held on August 13, 1973, in the Hutchinson Utilities meeting
place at 2:15 PM.
All Commissioners were present; also Manager Steve Wacker and
Counsel Gilmer.
Minutes of the regular meeting, July 9, 1973, were read and
approved.
Motion was made by Commissioner Filk, seconded by Commissioner
Tracy and unanimously carried to transfer $2,000.00 from
Electric to Gas Division.
At 2:30 PM Phil Walters, a representative of Communications
Systems, Inc. appeared requesting a special rate on pole
rental. Request denied. Further discussion took place rel-
ative to several items in question - -no major problems arose.
Mr. Walters left at 3:15.
Motion was made by Commissioner Tracy, seconded by Commissioner
Filk and unanimously carried to allow the Commission and the
Manager to attend the 20th Annual Area Power Conference at the
Radisson South Hotel in Minneapolis October 31 - November 2.
Motion was made by Commissioner Filk, seconded by Commissioner
Tracy and unanimously carried to sign current Natural Gas
contract with 3M.
Report on General Electric Unit #8 by Manager Wacker. A check
out will be held by General Electric people on October 28, 1973.
A general report ensued.
Manager Wacker presented a letter to each Commissioner from
Milne & Associates concerning an organization of'generating
plants inter connected with United Power.
